Excellent
We learned a lot about Spanish food origins and tradition. Our guide, Mitzi, was very friendly and knowledgeable. She did a good job of including everyone and answering questions.

We had the most wonderful Spanish Cusine tour with Arantxa! Learned so much, went to a great variety of local spots tasting some of the best Madrid has to offer all the while learning about the rich history and some really fun stories. Our group was great, total of 7 people. My favorite stop was to a local market where Arantxa led us to all the different stalls advising of great places to get a bite to eat or buy gifts for family & friends back home. Arantxa is a wealth of knowledge and so very kind, personable and fun. Cannot wait to come back and join in again!!! Got so much more than our money’s worth!

Arantxa was a wonderful guide and we learned so much about food in Madrid and Spain from her. The group was small so we got to ask lots of questions, and everyone was very friendly. The atmosphere felt very local. We got so much food, I could barely eat it all, and lots of restaurants, bars, and markets to go check out later. Visiting the local market was a highlight - the olive tasting was incredible. Given the length of the tour (over three hours) and the amount of food, the fee seems reasonable. The tour is best for adults, singles, couples or small groups.

Loved it! We got to pop around the city seeing various areas while eating & chatting our way through. Our guide David B. was great & went over & above by giving us many additional recommendations for Madrid plus the other cities we were visiting on our trip.

My first thought experience with devour tours was back in Rome. Great experience, so when in Spain of course wasn’t expecting anything less especially since they started in Madrid. Our group was lucky to have two guides Elenor and Montse. These two ladies knew their stuff!! And the food amazing met and exceeded my expectations. You will never go wrong with Devour!

Know Before You Go

Is this a walking food tour?
Yes, we stroll through two central neighborhoods at a relaxed pace (about 2 km total), with plenty of food breaks and seating.
How much food is included?
Enough for a full meal—this tour includes generous cicchetti tastings and drinks.
Do morning and evening tours differ?
Morning tours start with churros and hot chocolate; evening tours begin with tapas and beer. Everything else is the same.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
We can offer vegetarian alternatives, gluten-free, dairy-free, and non-alcoholic drinks. However, celiac disease and severe allergies are not easily accommodated due to the risk of cross-contamination.
Do we visit a real market?
Yes—an authentic neighborhood market where you’ll taste local staples and meet vendors we’ve worked with for years.
What neighborhoods do we explore?
You’ll visit Madrid’s Literary Quarter (Barrio de las Letras) and the historic center—both rich with culture, charm, and local flavor.
What makes this Madrid food tour different?
This is the original. Created in 2012, it’s built on real relationships—not just restaurant partnerships. You’ll eat with locals, at places we’ve trusted for generations—and walk away with a deeper connection to Madrid.
