Excellent
Had a wonderful day visiting a parmesan producer and then to a Moderna balsamic producer. At the balsamic producer we made tortellini and tagletelli pasta from scratch then sat down to eat the fruits of our labour. Fantastic car to drive us, fantastic day.

This was a fantastic tour! Our guide and driver were fantastic. We learned a lot about the process of making cheese, balsamic vinegar, and pasta! It's hard to say which was our favorite. We highly recommend this tour to get a taste, literally, of the history and culture of food in the region.

We had the best time on this tour!! Loved our guide Ela D, she was fun and so nice and was happy to share all kinds of information about Italy and Bologna. The cheese factory was really cool to see, the balsamic vinegar was really interesting to learn about at Boni and delicious to try, and the pasta-making and lunch was amazing and so so fun!! Patrizia was a fabulous hostess at Boni, loved getting to meet her. We all felt like family by the end of the day. It was a quick and fun-filled seven hours, and would do it again in a heartbeat! 10/10 recommend.

This was a perfect day outside of the city of Bologna with the perfect hostess! Thank you, Benedetta!. It was amazing to watch the process of making Parmigiano-Reggiano and the tastings were fantastic! Then we headed to a lovely family-owned balsamic vinegar business and home located in Modena. The samplings of the aged vinegars were delicious, the product was excellent, and the presentation was amazing! I learned so much and have a better appreciation of this product. Lastly, the visit to Agriturismo Ca’ Lunati for pasta making and a tasty meal was a treat! The location was beautiful and the pasta making class was so much fun! We enjoyed the fruits of our labor. All in all, a highly recommended tour that’s worth every penny!

Know Before You Book

Can I visit a Parmigiano or balsamic factory on my own?
Some are open to the public, but they often require advance booking, may not offer tastings, and rarely include English-speaking guides. This tour takes care of everything—with trusted, high-quality producers and no tourist traps.
Do other tours offer the same experience?
No—ours is the only day trip from Bologna that includes both authentic factory visits and a hands-on pasta-making class. Most tours skip one or send you to larger, less personal operations.
Is this suitable for vegetarians?
Yes! Parmigiano is vegetarian and pasta sauces can be adjusted. Just let us know any dietary needs when booking.
Will I learn to make pasta from scratch?
Yes—and not from a cookbook. A sfoglina, a professional pasta master, will guide you through the full process with plenty of hands-on help.
Is wine included?
Yes! Two glasses of regional wine are served with lunch. Non-alcoholic options are also available.
What’s the transportation like?
Comfortable and easy—air-conditioned minivan, round-trip from Bologna, so you can relax and focus on the food.
